The FKI is an international institute with seats in Amsterdam, Barcelona and Rome. The institute aims to be a platform to promote new projects on Free Knowledge in different countries and to offer space for cross-initiatives among people and groups that are already working in these areas. One of the strong aspects of the FKI is its activity within networks of various disciplines. The institute can draw upon specialists to realise projects in the fields of Free Knowledge in general or more concrete around any of these subjects:
